Back in Action....

Well I never finished telling you about the rest of the fiestas so I'll sum it up real quick here. Every night for two weeks there was a live band in the plaza with drinking and dancing till all hours of the night. Being the great Peace Corps Volunteer that I am, I went the extra mile to "integrate with my community".... One night we stayed out dancing so long that we were in the plaza until the sun came up. You didn't really notice it too much until it was so bright they turned off the street lights. When the clock stuck 6am we headed to the adobe oven to get fresh bread. The bread here is so delicious when it is hot out of the oven, it has a really good whole grain honey taste that you just can't pass up. Yummmm. We left the oven and headed home, only with out a key of course. (still don't have one at this point) So I had to knock on the door and wake my family up to let me in. Needless to say they weren't very happy.

For the next month I took shit from my dad from partying soo much during the fiestas. Everyday he'd say "Mucho Baile, Mucha Cerveza" (Lots of dancing, lots of drinking).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Bron....sorry we have been so out of touch, i blame my laziness on getting to understand blogging, yes, i know, emailing is so 2003, but i am still in 1992 :)

Jill and I see something on the news about SA or Peru and our thoughts and prayers automatically turn to you - the courageous of your decision and the adventure and achievement of what you are accomplishing - next is FBI Agent Training class right :)

We are headed into NYC between Christmas and New Years and going to see the Rockette's and some dinners out, we love that :)

Ali and I met a lady at Starbucks the other day, her name is Loretta Cooper, aka Lauren Rogers, who was an ABC News Correspondent for over 20 years, now retired and has own commmunication company and she has traveled to a town north of Peru with her church recently and she told us of the coo-coo dinners :)
But she did not partake in the multiple bottles of beer :)

Life for me is hectic and i love it, Ali worked at ManTech during the holiday break and Lindsay is still making us all laugh. Jill has a student who is terminal and may not see the New Year, and that is a sobering thought for us all - life is very precious and one should "plan your life as if you will live forever, but live your life as if you will die tomorrow"!

Went to Rochester in November to play cards and live the good life, but unfortunately lost at the Holloway poker table, not usual, so very humbling :)

May your life be enriched in 2008 and know that our lives have been because of you, Love,

Al, Jill, Ali and Lindsay xoxox
