photos: incan ruins - sorry the one is sideways, i´ll fix that later
Today I went over to ¨3 de Octubre¨one of the other neighborhoods that trainees live in to hike some Incan ruins. Believe it or not, I actually got there about 10 minutes early so Drew´s family invited me into their house and tried to feed me breakfast. Luckily I had already eaten because it was a huge bowl of ¨soup¨full of tons of chunks of meat¨. No gracias.
About 20 of us (trainees, family members, and others from the neighborhood) and climbed up a huge hill that is the site of some Incan ruins. The views were amazing, the sun was hot but the breeze kept us cool. Unfortunately, the breeze didn´t stop me from getting sunburned. Don´t worry mom - its not bad, just the usual ¨racoon¨sunglasses tan. My host family thinks I look funny. Along the way I found a bunch of artifacts. Mostly pieces of broken pottery, some were simple others were painted in different colors. At the top of the hill there were 7 little rolling hills (see the photo) and apparently the Incas used to use them with the way the sun shined for calendar. ¿Interesante no?

These pictures look really cool. How many feet above the civilazation below are you?
The hike was about 1000 ft above the town
